Also known as Peruvian Daffodil or Spider Lilies. Stalk height 36", bloom is 7-9" across. Related to the amaryllis. The flower stalks arise from basal rosettes of long, glossy, strap-shaped leaves.
Best suited for warm climates, zones 8-10. At my farm here in hot and humid southeast Texas, zone 9a, the plants stay inground all year long. Highly disease resistant, showy, different and fun. This is a large plant and will need about 3 square feet per plant. Plant in rich, moist earth. Great for wetter areas like ground depressions, pond banks, ravines, etc. Easy to grow, extremely carefree, as in "forget about it." Just needs space.
Bulbs are about the size of a tennis ball. Price given is per bulb.
