Crinum 'Ellen Bosanquet.'  Height: 36" stalks x 5" flowers.

Old-fashioned, very large flowering plant with long, strappy leaves.  Pink trumpet-shaped flowers are borne on a singular stalk.  Spicy fragrance.  Bulbs approximately the size of a baseball or softball.  These are mature, flowering plants.  If grown from seed, crinum can take anywhere from 3-8 years to flower.  Needs about 3 square feet of space per plant.  Very carefree, disease resistant and easy to grow... just needs space!  Price given is for one bulb.

Horticuluralist Greg Grant says, "I don't know of any plant which has been ignored by modern gardeners of the South to the extent that crinums have. There is probably no other flowering perennial which can be classed as both extremely drought tolerant and aquatic, while providing stunning displays of fragrant, cut flower quality blossoms. If you have them, appreciate them, becaue they are truly unique Southern perennials."
