Daylilies A - Z

H. Fulva "Europa"

(Stout, 1929)

Species type.  34" ht. x 4" bloom, triploid.  Orange with darker orange-red eyezone, with visible reddish veins.  Light midribs. Yellow to green throat.

The original "roadside" or "ditch" lily.  Unlike the modern daylilies, this type can be somewhat invasive, as it has a spreading stoloniferous habit.  For that quality, it is best suited to a more informal garden, where a bit of meandering is tolerated and wanted.  Dormant.
