Hello Daylily Friends!
Could fall-like weather actually be getting here...fnally??
1) Shipping has resumed for the fall, now through November. After that date, shipping stops until the following March. See the Shipping/Ordering tab for more info.
2) Candy Time is quickly approaching! "Candy Time" is the term I use that means it's time to fertilize the daylilies. Do this twice a year: at Valentine's Day and at Halloween. I like to use a mild, balanced 8-8-8 fertilizer. It is granular in form, and all you need to do is sprinkle a little bit at the base of each daylily plant. No need to water it in; the rain and the dew will dissolve it accordingly. Another balanced fertilizer is 10-10-10, but no higher. Other folks like to use formulas like Miracle Gro, and that's fine too. Fertilizing in the fall is for the nourishment of the plant's roots, and fertilizing in the spring assures beautiful blooms.
Take care, everyone! Enjoy the cooler temperatures... who knows if they'll last?
