Showcasing God' s magnificent beauty through daylilies.

bow...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord...."

Hello Daylily Friends!
I want to share a few thoughts with you as we head in to October in just a couple of days....
1) Shipping has resumed for the fall, now through December 15th. After that date, shipping stops until the following March. See the Shipping/Ordering tab for more info.
2) Like I have sometimes done in the past, I had hoped to have an open weekend in October for sales. However, the constant rain that we've had has left the daylily fields way too mushy for heavy foot traffic. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.
3) Candy Time is quickly approaching! "Candy Time" is the term I use that means it's time to fertilize the daylilies. Do this twice a year: at Valentine's Day and at Halloween. I like to use a mild, balanced 8-8-8 fertilizer. It is granular in form, and all you need to do is sprinkle a little bit at the base of each daylily plant. No need to water it in; the rain and the dew will dissolve it accordingly. Another balanced fertilizer is 10-10-10, but no higher. Other folks like to use formulas like Miracle Gro, and that's fine too. Fertilizing in the fall is for the nourishment of the plant's roots, and fertilizing in the spring assures beautiful blooms.
Take care, everyone! Enjoy the cooler temperatures!
